A Silverton Colorado Engagement
This post is near and dear to my heart. Months ago, my best friend’s boyfriend, Billy reached out to me. He wanted to surprise my best friend, Aless with a mountaintop proposal during their annual 4th of July trip to Durango Colorado. Without hesitation, I knew I wanted to be there to see my childhood best friend get engaged! Snapping a few photos was just a bonus.
The proposal was beyond perfect. It happened on beautiful Hurricane Pass at 12,730 feet located in Silverton, Colorado, a serene little mountain town nestled among mountain peaks just 1.5 hours Northeast of Durango. Aless had no idea some of us were even coming to Colorado. Lindsay and myself rode up on a side-by-side and disguised ourselves. We were nervous that Aless would recognize us. We didn’t reveal ourselves until after the proposal. Thanks again for Billy and Aless’s good friend, Laura for picking us up at camp and driving us around the mountain passes.
This moment was one to remember. Billy got down on one knee after telling Aless he wanted to take a photo of her facing away and looking into the mountain landscapes off Hurricane Pass. As soon as she turned around, the moment happened! Although, I didn’t get to capture the knee bend since I was still trying to hide in the distance, I did capture the pure joy and bliss on their faces right after Billy asked Aless to marry him. Congrats, Billy and Aless! I can’t wait for your wedding day. My best friend is getting married!!!
