I wanted to share some highlights and favorite parts of a September road trip through Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. My trail runner, mountain climbing, and fellow yogi had a special bond with her dog, Bailey. It was a kind of friendship and bond that only one can understand if you are a pet parent. One filled with unconditional love, respect for one another, mountain hikes and adventures, and that quick look over and you know exactly what they are thinking. That kind of love. As a dog mom myself, it always hurts my heart to know that one-day these beautiful souls leave this planet. But they leave each one of us with memories, ones that we will hold in our hearts fur-ever and ever.

Obsidian Trail Backpacking

I can’t think of anything better than spending the longest day of the year exploring the backcountry of the Three Sisters Wilderness on the Obsidian Trail. The trail is around 12 miles out and back and 2,000 feet in elevation gain. . It is always a treat to check out new areas of the Pacific Crest Trail. I had great company and stunning scenery all around, and even introduced a surf friend to her first backpacking experience!

An Urban Forest Wedding

Kennedy and Benjamin are college sweethearts that enjoy all things outdoors, traveling (they lived in Bali!), trying new foods and meditation. When they got engaged, they knew they wanted to have an intimate wedding in the middle of a forest somewhere. The Hoyt Arboretum was a great choice and one of the most unique elopement locations in Oregon.
